Acquired in Morocco and formally approved in 2021, NWA 13980 is a scarce CK3 carbonaceous chondrite from a find totaling just ~502 g across six stones. The type specimen (26 g) was deposited with the Planetary Studies Foundation; the main mass resided in the Harkness Collection until being transferred to the Bespoke Sky Collection, a clean, published provenance that traces from field to classification.

Scientifically, it is an early solar-system time capsule: CK3 with low weathering, S2 shock, and precise mineral chemistry (olivine Fa 16.7 ± 14.2; low-Ca pyroxene Fs 12.4 ± 13.3; wollastonite Wo 49.6 ± 1.1). In plain terms: a well-preserved, unequilibrated carbonaceous chondrite whose fine textures and chemistry speak to primordial histories in the protoplanetary disk.
