Discovered in 2001 by an anonymous finder in the Western Saharan desert near Tagounite, many fusion-crusted stones totaling ~3 kg revealed a rarity: a CV3-anomalous carbonaceous chondrite, one of only four such meteorites approved to date. Cut faces show a graceful foliation with flattened chondrules and centimeter-scale CAIs, plus dark inclusions whose oxygen isotopes stand intriguingly apart from the host, an ancient collage with its own internal contrasts.
Scientifically, NWA 1465 is a type-3 carbonaceous chondrite with an anhydrous matrix of Fe-rich olivine, pyroxenes, troilite, magnetite, and trace FeNi metal, shock stage S4 and weathering W3, a well-preserved record of early solar system processing. Research on this meteorite notes pervasive deformation and alignment of components, consistent with its distinctive foliation and CV–CK transitional signatures.

Bespoke Sky Ventures is proud to choose the B612 Foundation as our chosen philanthropic partner. For more than two decades, B612 has approached the asteroid frontier with a rare combination of scientific rigor, practical imagination, and a profound sense of responsibility. B612 advances the knowledge and tools needed to protect Earth from potentially hazardous asteroid impacts while helping humanity better understand and navigate the solar system. Through its Asteroid Institute and the open-source ADAM platform, B612 is creating the capabilities required to discover asteroids, recover overlooked observations, refine their orbits, evaluate potential threats, and plan future journeys through space; work that has already revealed tens of thousands of high-confidence asteroid candidates hidden within existing astronomical data. Its support of Asteroid Day and the Schweickart Prize ensures that this vision extends beyond laboratories and computer code, strengthening public understanding while inviting a new generation of bright minds to consider the responsibilities that accompany humanity’s expansion into space. This mission is deeply aligned with our own belief that exploring the heavens must never be separated from caring for the world beneath them. At Bespoke Sky Ventures, we see stewardship of the planet as both a privilege and an obligation, and we believe that those who study, present, and preserve material from other worlds should also support the people working to safeguard this one. B612 embodies that principle at its highest level: exceptional minds, open knowledge, long horizons, and the conviction that foresight, wisely applied, can help protect our planet and secure humanity’s future among the stars.
Thank you for choosing Bespoke Sky Meteorites! We strive to provide you, our customer, with the best meteorite specimens from around the world! We understand that there are many options when purchasing meteorites, and we are genuinely appreciative that you would consider us!
