A diogenite of consequence, secured for those who collect with intention.

Presented by Bespoke Sky Ventures, the main mass of Timimoun 002 is a commanding 1,398 g stone whose 40% remnant fusion crust preserves the drama of atmospheric passage with deep desert poise. The surface reads like a field note in relief, matte, weathered luster giving way to crisp brecciation and orthopyroxene-rich interiors; an aesthetic and scientific harmony that separates “fine” from “important.”

  • Identity & classification. Timimoun 002 is the official name of an HED achondrite classified as a diogenite; the name was approved on September 13, 2025. Found in Adrar, Algeria

  • Discovery details. Found July 3, 2024 at 29.529°N, 0.546°E; total known mass 4,000 g in 24 pieces; low weathering and moderate shock

  • Provenance & curation. The type specimen (34.68 g) is at the Yale Peabody Museum (YPMNH); classification by A. Irving (UWS) and P. Carpenter (WUSL). The main mass is recorded under G. Harkness

  • Petrography highlights. Breccia dominated by orthopyroxene (>90 vol%) with unusual non-linear augite exsolution lamellae; accessory anorthite, silica polymorph (with radial expansion cracks), ilmenite, low-Ti chromite, and troilite.

For connoisseurs who value scarcity, stature, and scientific pedigree, this is the diogenite that does the talking, now, and in twenty years.
