There are precious few meteorites that bear such a striking form and composition as this main mass of the marvelously complex NWA 17194! From the remnant crust and flowlines of the exterior, to the rich and varied chondrule distribution of the matrix, this is truly a museum piece! The elaborate CAIs with rare, curved and flowing forms set off this cut face in a manner that draws the eyes of those viewing into the roiling sea of chondrules, each with their own rich history drawn from billions of years of cosmic processes before this CVred3 found its final home here on Earth.
The type specimen for this meteorite is held at the pretigious Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, a place as rich and storied as the meteorite here for sale. The specimen was cut using a dry cutting technique, thereby preserving the internal matrix from alterations seen in other specimens that have been cut using water as a coolant. The surface finish is a 400-grit dry polish. In total, this specimen required sixty-three hours of precision cutting and four hours of hand finishing to render the superlative mass presented to you today!
Add this museum specimen to your bespoke collection today, and have in your possesion the very building blocks of life in a form fit for the purveyor of the rare and exquisite!
